How are the cold spots associated with Paranormal phenomena?

I have heard a few different theories on this one. The most popular being they draw static energy from the atmosphere to help themselves achieve their goal, whether that being to solidify or to move an object. So the coldness would be the lack of energy (heat) in the room while the phenomena is present. Another theory is that the phenomena itself is cold to the touch so its surroundings become cooler.
