Q&A

How long have you been interested in the paranormal?

I've been interested ever since I was about 6 years old. I saw something I couldn't explain that jump-started my curiosity. I got more into it in high school and college while I was learning about science and religion.

What started this interest?

My interest started with the apparition I think I saw when I was 6 years old. I also had a short out-of-body experience when I was 16. Since then I have studied physics and engineering, and would like to try to prove that paranormal/mysterious phenomena exist through the use of scientific methods. It would also be nice to explain why or how some of the phenomena occur.

How did you become involved with New England Paranormal?

I became involved by attending their course at BCAE and talking to Kevin afterwards. I asked how I could become involved and he said to email him and he'd try to get me involved with some cases.

When you go on an investigation what do you expect? What don't you expect?

When I go on a case, I expect to meet people who are convinced that their home (or the area around their home) is haunted. I do not expect to find any evidence of this since the probability of detecting evidence within a night's worth of investigating is very low. However, I do hope to find some sort of evidence. I've been on some cases where the people liked knowing that we didn't find any evidence. But, I've also been on a case where the people were disappointed that we did not find any evidence.

If someone wants to get involved with Paranormal Research/Investigations, what would you suggest to them?

I would suggest reading some books on the paranormal/metaphysical. I've read books on out-of-body experiences, ghost hunting, UFOs, hauntings, and even Earth lights (mysterious lights that appear throughout the world and are theorized to form from the piezo-electric affect in the quartz rock beneath the surface). I would also suggest contacting your nearest paranormal group and seeing if you could attend one of their training sessions or meetings.
