Q&A

How long have you been interested in the paranormal?

I have been interested in the paranormal ever since I was a child, when my parents took me to a "haunted house" in Fitzwilliam, NH. The house was an old abandoned home, complete with tattered draperies, chipping paint, and an unwelcoming feel!

What started this interest?

It may have been from watching too many horror movies as a teenager, but I have always been fascinated by what lies behind reports of paranormal activity. Simply put, I wanted to know more so I delved deeper into the subject matter.

How did you become involved with New England Paranormal?

I decided one day that I wanted to become involved with a respected investigative group and do some firsthand investigating, rather than watching someone else doing it on my television. Why should they have all the fun? To make a long story short, I knew that Steve Gonsalves was the founder of New England Paranormal, so I went to the website and contacted Mike Dion about joining the group. I later met Mike at the Ghostbusters class at the Boston Center for Adult Education, and he invited me to join the group on a training investigation to see how I did. And here I am!

When you go on an investigation what do you expect? What don't you expect?

During my first investigation, we got some really awesome EVP's. That's not going to happen every time, so I just expect the place I'm investigating to be a normal, everyday house. That way when something really neat happens, it's a nice surprise and makes the effort all the more worthwhile. The only thing I don't expect is that I'm going to solve the mystery behind paranormal phenomena when no one else has yet been able to. That would take too much fun out of going on investigations!

If someone wants to get involved with Paranormal Research/Investigations, what would you suggest to them?

Do as much research as possible. There are some great books available, and the internet is rife with information and paranormal research groups. Most of these groups love to have people ask them questions, so ask away!

Any other comments?

Just have fun with whatever you choose to do. Be safe, courteous, and maintain a high level of integrity in your research, because you are going to want to share it with others.
