How long have you been interested in the paranormal?
I have been interested in the Paranormal since I was a kid. Both me, and my brother, experienced something neither of us will forget. Ever since then, any chance I had to watch a paranormal show or read a paranormal book I was there!
What started this interest?
Well I was always interested even as a little kid. I loved the concept of hunting ghosts, and of course I was a huge Ghostbusters fan. But it all started when I was 8 years old. My brother and I were up late, and we couldn't sleep. Then, we saw something walk passed our bedroom door. It was a man in what looked like old aviation gear (the old bomber jacket with the hood that had the googles attached.) We got up to see if it went into the bathroom, but nothing was there. We told my Mom what had happened and she took us to do research on the house, and we discovered that the house we lived in was built by a woman in the late 1920's, who was an actress and her husband was an aviator who had died in a plane crash. We knew that the guy we saw was that man. Ever since then, anytime I can go out and look for more proof that these phenomena really exist, I do.
How did you become involved with New England Paranormal?
I attended the Ghostbusters class that was taught by Mike Dion and Kristyn Gartland. After the class, I expressed my interest in being a member of NEP, and continued a relationship talking with Mike via email. Then that one fateful day, I got the email I was waiting for, that they were going to let me be a member of NEP. Truly, one of the coolest days ever. I hope I can live up to the expectations they have, and make this group proud that they made me a member.
When you go on an investigation what do you expect? What don't you expect?
Well I always hope to catch something, but if I don't I won't be disappointed. I was very fortunate that on my first investigation we caught some really good EVP's, and some good footage on a camcorder. It was a great experience. But again, I was very fortunate because 70% of the time you probably won't get anything. Keep an open mind and steady eyes, and maybe you'll be fortunate to see or hear something you can't explain.
If someone wants to get involved with Paranormal Research/Investigations, what would you suggest to them?
Research, Research , Research one of the most important things. Always ask questions, never be afraid to speak up. The more you learn, the quicker you'll be able to understand it. The next thing you know, people will be asking you for help.
Any other comments?
Be serious and professional. Always have fun, because at the very least if you don't catch anything, you can take home the fun you had and the experiences you had, with good company and late nights. Always enjoy and always be safe. Oh, and the number one rule, never go it alone.
Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!
